Even though far apart ... they seem to meet.......

Went to this house warming ceremony near the beach ... t'was nice. Everybody running around and decked to the hilt ... catamarans lined out on the shore. Kept watchin the horizon .... it's fascinating watching the sea reaching the sky. Love the idea of both the blue's, the blue of the ocean and the sky meeting .....

Poor Dude Oedipus ....

Had choir practice and we (the english choir) finished practicing early. We were sitting there on sand under an open sky and waiting for the tamil choir to finish their practice. We finally got bored of waiting and so nam asked me to tell them all a story. It was one mixed group of people like the picture up there .... anyway I told them the story about King Oedipus. They were all disgusted by the oedipus story. Heard this story from a professor, and I found it very amusing. Here is the gist of the story .... Oedipus was the mythical king of Thebes (son of Laius and Jocasta ) who, unknowingly, killed his father and married his mother. At Oedipus birth, the Delphic Oracle prophesied that he would kill his father. Seeking to avoid such a fate, Laius had the infant's ankles pierced with nails and had him placed in the wilderness to die. His servant, however, betrayed him, handing the boy to a shepherd who presented the child to the King and Queen of the neighbouring land who ra

Reaching ..... to God knows where!

One of my favourite cartoons while growing up. Everything about her world was beautiful ... yet she wanted to get out. Like this song I heard goes: I'm on the outside looking in ..... Ending with the words of Atticus Finch, from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee. "Before I can live with other folks, I've got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience" On a lighter note, this line was taken from the same book. Scout ponders....... I sometimes think Atticus subjected every crisis of his life to tranquil evaluation behind The Moblie Register, The Birmingham News, The Montgomery Advertiser.

Doomed ......

That's how today was, just like the picture ..... too huge and beautiful to comprehend. Doomed, but can't stop smiling ........ It was actually weird, was being yelled (cursed, antagonised) at by society conscious people and all I could do was laugh, I was happy! Isn't it amazing when miracles happen ...... HE sure knows how to take care of us. What to do, can't say I didn't try!!! Let me end in the word's of the great bard of Avon himself ..... "Though this be madness, yet there is method in 't." - Hamlet. "This above all: to thine own self be true". - Hamlet.

Just a few pix's today ...

Calvin, now he is someone I would really like to meet! Really like this picture ..... it's colourful.

The Four Humors ......

This Professor told us some rather interesting stuff ..... 'bout the four humors ... it seems our body consists of four elemental fluids. They are: Yellow Bile (Fire) Black Bile (Earth) Phlegm (Water) Blood (Air) Each of the humors was associated with one of the four universal elements (Fire, Earth, Water & Air). An imbalance in the distribution of these fluids was thought to affect each individual's personality Too much blood, made one SANGUINE; these people are generally amorous , sturdy, confident, cheerful, sociable, carefree, lively. Too much black bile, MELANCHOLIC ; and these people are usually moody, anxious, sentimental, introspective, reserved Too much yellow bile, CHOLERIC ; and these folks are easily angered, agressive, short-tempered, ambitious, restless, impulsive & too much phlegm, PHLEGMATIC; they are calm, unemotional, cool, impassive, careful, reliable, even-tempered

Filling the Ciborium and the Chalice with the Divine food of Everlasting Life .....

My early morning wine and host filling work .... I woke up at freaking 5 AM for this!!! But it's good job, atleast it makes sure I reach church on time. Never really liked the mass down here .... they were too long (too long is an understatement). Liked the services I used to attend in Bangalore and Pune. Anyway, since we have an english choir here, church is now interesting.

Perseverance doesn't always pay off ...

April 22nd, 2006 This hen at home likes to lay it's egg in my sister(nameeta's) room. It circles all round the house, tries all the various entrances and somehow manages to enter the house and it heads straight towards her room. It climbs onto her chair (where nam throws her clothes, once she is done wearing them .... yeah, nam thinks and acts like paris hilton) and lays her egg among nam's clothes, you can see the egg near her feet in the picture. Then the hen stands up and starts clucking and making all sorts of noises ... untill somebody removes the egg, then she will gladly jump down after making sure her egg is safe. Mom doesn't like the hen laying her eggs on the clothes, so she put her in this box ...... I kinda felt sad for her. But what do you know ... she's a real gal !!! She posed beautifully for these picture. Anyway the sibling's meet turned out surprisingly well ..... the kids were rather outspoken and candid. It was fun .... much better th

Prepared for the Siblings meet ....

April 21st, 2006 Decided what to do with the sibing's when they turn up tomorrow. We don't want them to get bored, at the same time we want the whole thing to be useful. Hopefully tomorrow's session will be an interactive one. It's gonna be a real drag if the kids are gonna be all quiet and proper. For anybody wondering what this is all about ....I work with mentally challenged children in a school. Tomorrow the siblings of these children have been asked to come to school. We want to tell them how to care for their brothers or sisters. They should know that in the future they are the ones who will care for their special brother or sister, and they should make an effort to understand their gestures and needs. They should strive to teach their brother/sister to be independent in their day to day activities. They should include him in games and the general banter that goes on between friends ... these kids need to be accepted and their social skills should be developed

Just trying it out ...

April 20th, 2006 Nothin in particular .... just thought of trying this thing out .. see how it works ... This picture was taken on Easter Sunday, right after we attended mass. The girl in black lives next door. We had to attend two services !!!! The midnight one to witness the resurrection scene ... they kinda enact the whole resurrection thing ....like the boulder being moved away and Jesus emerging from within dressed in white, with all the works included, the bright lights and the sounds .... was neat. The morning service we attended 'coz we are in the choir. We sang "I'm rejoicing night and day" ... folks said it was nice.
